Tattoo Aftercare

It is recommended to leave the bandage on for at least 3 hours after the tattoo is finished.  When you remove the bandage make sure you are in a place that you are able to wash the tattoo.  You will want to wash the tattoo with your hands and warm soapy water to remove all bodily fluids as well as any ointment.  Once the tattoo is clean, pat dry with a clean towel, DO NOT SCRUB THE TATTOO!

Once the tattoo is dry, you will want to apply a small amount of either A&D or other ointment/salve made for tattoo aftercare. You want to rub the ointment in so that the tattoo is nearly dry to the touch.  Do not over apply the ointment, this could slow healing.

If using A&D, stop using it after 2 to 3 days.  If using an ointment or salve designed for tattoos, you may use that the entire healing process.  Apply salve or an unscented lotion anytime the tattoo feels dry. Peeling will occur a few days after receiving the tattoo, this is normal.  The tattoo may appear duller than usual for a few days after peeling.

Sometimes a tattoo needs a little touching up.  This is common and we guarantee the tattoos done in our studio to look good.  If you feel you need a touch up, you have to wait until the tattoo is fully healed meaning you should see the grain of the skin and the tattoo is no longer shiny.  This usually takes 2 to 4 weeks.  Come in and speak to your artist as soon as possible as we only do free touch ups for up to 3 months after the tattoo is finished.
